Can someone recommend a good adhesive for attaching the Z lettering back on my trunk?

3M VHB Tape. You will probably need to buy a big roll of it and it is not sold through normal places, just 3M wholesalers.

McMaster-Carr will sell you the smaller 15-foot rolls of 3M VHB tape. I've bought a lot of it from them. Just put VHB in the search box. It'll cost you about $20/roll.
