Is there any way to remove the CDV from a '04 325cic and an '04 330ci? Will we need a new clutch line? Zeckhausen.com has a replacement CDV, what is the difference between this part and the stock unit? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Functionally there is no requirement to replace the CDV with a modified one. It can be removed completely. The main reason people use a modified CDV instead is to aleviate any questions from a servicing dealer in the event of a clutch/transmission problem. A modified CDV looks like a stock CDV from the outside and won't be put under the magnifying glass.

That said, I have never read of any transmission/clutch problems on a CDV-less car.
