But not quite!

This is one of the cleanest cars to come through my garage. When I washed the road dirt off from Bob's trip over from Indiana, the soap literally slid off the highly waxed surface before I could get the hose up to rinse it off!

An extremely nice example of one of our favorite cars; with one (1) tiny exception...

I found a single fractured spotweld. The mount itself does not show any signs of the sharp edge starting to crack.

Beautiful car. What year is it? I am assuming its not an S54, because it looks like the cats are visible under the car, unless I am looking at something completely different?

Every time I see that flimsy, sheet metal bracket I loose a little more respect for BMW. There is no excuse for mounting a differential with sheet metal.

I see some red overspray in that picture, he must have painted it recently.

1999, an exceptionally clean 24,000 mile example.

Nope, but it does have more overspray than most; even the trunk is nearly red (most are still the E-coat's color).

Couldn't agree more... there are places to cut corners to keep costs down (interior, sound system and other vanity items) but NOT a differential mount. You would almost expect something like this from a $15k car, but on a BMW?
