 Anyone try Magnaflow #14816

Most people usually go with Magnaflow #14815 (3" diameter tips)

Was thinking of trying this the Magnaflow #14816 (3.5" diameter tips)

which are double walled tips. These are wider and I think some people have got them to fit by cutting the opening on their bumper a little larger. Some people have concerns that during cornering, the rubber exhaust mount provide movement and may cause the plastic bumper to melt due to the heat.

My guess is with the #14816 being a double wall tip, the outer wall won't get very hot to melt the bumper. I've had Magnaflow double wall tips before (not the #14816, just the tips themselves) and if the design is the same, they shouldn't really get hot enough to melt the bumper.

Has anyone installed the Magnaflow #14816 and what is their experience?

I don't have that model but have the double wall squared tip design and have never had problems.

Do you have an upclose picture?

Did you have to modify your bumper or did you just let the muffler hang lower?

I have the 14816...let me get a shot of them on the coupe for you.

Great.

Can you see if the outer portion of the double wall tip gets hot?

yes, the whole tip gets hot, I wouldn't go touching it. BUT, it does seem to cool off pretty fast.

I owe you a pic
