Pricing question for part number 51 16 1 949 793
Ron listed it at $.39 a while ago...dealer just charged me $.89. Did the price go up or did I get screwed by Stevens Crack once again? They also charged me $.89 for part number 51 48 8 353 567 which Ron had listed at $.31. This is the same dealer that attempted to sell me 10W60 for $16/liter. I must be dumb to go back there.

asking more than double "suggested retail" still seems ridiculous and unethical to me. there are plenty of dealers in the bay area...ill try another one tomorrow.
thanks again for the info

How much money do you think they make on a forty-cent (0.40) part? I'd say you were lucky they had it in stock (or got it for you). How far are you willing to drive to save fifty (50) cents?
I buy "small parts" like that in quantities of 20 to 50 pieces; I don't even bother to charge for them when I replace trim caps on cars because they aren't worth the time & effort to do so.
Sixteen (16) dollars for a litre of oil? I agree with you on that one!
