voltage Issues for Oil Pressure Gauge.

So I decided to get around to installing the oil pressure sender and gauge a few weeks past. The install was pretty straight forward up into the point it came to wiring.

electrical is not my strong point, actually its a bit of a weakness.

removed the existing temp gauge in the center of our three gauge panel and starting taking some readings to determine a 12v power source.

I found the lighting wires at 12v, but the remaining 4 wires only read upto 5v ???

What gives ???

any advise or direction is highly appreciated.

Thanks Ron... I know I could count on you to make sense of this.

There is a gauge module between the sensors and gauges.

I am still lost... the pic seems to indicate the power is only 5V...

So in other words I need to find a 12V power source elsewhere ???
This is why I never went into ee or cs

Pat,

If you aren't going to pick up 12V switched power at the fuse box (which means another wire through the firewall) then you could get switched 12V power at the radio or the UGDO/cell phone wire harness under the e-brake.
