Who is using a Clutch Stop on the their Coupe? Is this a recommended addition?

A local person is selling 3 different sizes. What size is the required for an 01 Coupe?

1.5" - adjusts from .5" to 1.5"
2" - adjusts from 1" - 2"
3" - adjusts from 2" - 3"

Thanks!

I've had one of Ron Stygar's clutch stops for over 5 years now and LOVE it! His first batch were made of Delrin, a favorite material of Ron's ... but susceptable to breaking. His upgrade was to make them of aluminum and they're essentially unbreakable. His are a bit pricey, but as always, Ron's stuff is first class.

To answer your question, on my 2000 Mcoupe the top of the clutch stop is approx. 1-1/4" from the floor. Given that stat, the 1st or 2nd choice would (should) work for you. Just remember that you'll need to adjust it so your Coupe will still start with the clutch in ... 'cuz if it's too far from the floor, it may not activate the switch in the ignition circuit.

After installing, I did kill the engine a couple of times 'cuz the clutch comes in much more quickly ... but once you get used to it, driving a car without one will feel weird 'cuz of the wasted motion during shifting. Try it ... You'll like it!

I just installed the UUC clutch stop tonite. I absolutely love the quick engagement, but I am gonna have to cut at least 1.5cm off of it tomorrow morning. It doesnt screw all the way in, and I can tell that once the car is hot, shifting might become a problem. All in all, its a great feeling not having all that wasted motion.
