I was just reading a bunch of old posts about oil coolers and saw one mention that VAC sells these kits but I couldn't find any feedback on them. Does anyone here have one? What's the difference between the Euro oil filter housing and the US oil filter housing for the s52 motor? Does the Euro oil filter housing allow for an oil pressure sender? I have a oil pressure gauge (LeatherZ kit) that I don't want to give up.

But if you install an oil cooler, I think the S52 still requires a tee of some sort (like Randy's block) so you still have somewhere to put the VANOS line.

Right on daniel. The s54 and the "euro" are the same. Real simple chage process. all of 1 hour for the housing. Recommend the s54 radiator for the ease of mounting the OEM s54 oil cooler. A plug and play event. The "tee" block is necessary for the addition of the gauge. Also this method is all OEM so there are no stresses or "aftermarket parts involved.

Thanks for the info guys. What's the cost of an S54 radiator? Any argument for the stock S54 radiator vs something like the Zionsville radiator?

The Zionsville is $525 PWR 57mm (extra thick) is $455 S54 is (realoem price) $364
The PWR is meant for the E36 M3, but I may try to figure out what it would take to put it in the roadster. The E36 M3 and the S52 roadster do not have the same radiator part number, but they do share a shroud p/n so maybe its tank location or other port locations that are different.
I dunno, I know I want a new radiator and oil cooler, but have been torn about which way to go with it.

One of the possibilities I'm looking at is the Radiator with oil cooler kit from Zionsville. I'm waiting to hear back from them about the details of that kit. I'll let you know what I figure out.
