 New Metal Water Pump

Attended the 2005 SEMA show in Vegas.

It seems Stewart Components is entering the import market with a new water pump aimed for the E34, E36, and E46 cars.

When asked about possible bearing failure, the guy at the booth stated that they beefed up the bearings to avoid that.

Suppose to be available around Mid-January 2006. Suggested retail price is $195, but I don't know if that the final price.

If that's the price, then I can buy 4 OEM ones, and replace it every 40k miles, rather then 60k miles and still be ahead in 5 years.

True. It might be worth it for those who don't know how to replace their own water pump thought.

I just thought it was interesting to see Stewart, mostly dealing with domestics, trying to enter the import market.

Are these the Be Cool guys?

Be Cool was at O'fest with a bunch of stuff for cooling systems.

Nope. This is EMP Stewart. They're known for their electric water pumps and also supply high end water pumps for domestic dragsters.

They're entering the import market with a water pump for the BMW.

I may give this pump a try just because

1. 2x the efficiency of a stock pump
2. Less parasitic drag
3. 15% increase in flow

This would be a great complement to Underdrive pulleys, IMO.
