Ok to pull the battery for winter storage?

Am I going to hurt anything if I pull the battery out of my '99 M Coupe for it's winter nap? I ask because I have one battery tender but at least 4 batteries that will need to be monitored. My thought was that I could just line the batteries up on the workbench and move the tender from one to another every couple of days. Any thoughts?

Should be cool. Don't forget to put the car on jack stands or over inflate the tires to prevent flat spotting. (Or just drive the car every couple of weeks.) Fuel should be OK for a few months - no real need for a stabalizer, but turning it over once in a while would be a good thing.

Winterizing is such a funny thing. Ask a farmer how he winterizes and you'll be told 'I turn the machine off'. The battery will probably be fine even if it sits idle for 3 or 4 months. Fuel won't break down, tires won't be permanently deformed. Just fill up the tank and turn her off. She'll be happy to see you in April.

I don't think jack stands are recommended because it exposes parts of the shocks that are normally immersed in oil.

Now, increasing the tire pressure sounds like a good idea.

I think the best thing is to take it out for a drive when the roads are dry to get everything up to operating temperature.
