I love my new Z4 with one exception. The seat belt keeps hitting me on the side of my neck rather than resting on my shoulder where it should sit--very disconcerting. There doesn't seem to be any good way to resolve this problem...at least I haven't found one. Has anyone experienced a similar seat belt problem? Is there a solution?
Thanks, -Preston

umm not sure abotu the z4 but on my bmw and other cars i am familiar with, you can adjust the hight of the seat belt. Look for a latch on the top part of the belt line.. once you locate that you can slide it up and down.. thus giving more clearance. Not too sure if that what you mean but Hope this helps anyway.

Unfortunately, that is not the problem. The way the seat belt normally sits coming from the car frame, through the seat "guider" and across my body hits me on the left side of my neck. I actually hits my wife up under her chin on the side of her face and she refused to drive he car as a result! The BMW service folks said this was a liability issue that they would not address (isn't that wonderful ;-). Anyway, the only solution I could find was to remove the belt from the "guider" in the seat top and let it rest on the side of the seat before coming around to the body. However, when doing this the belt is nearly impossible to retrieve. Atually I remember reading about this in a Car and Driver article some time ago. Anyone with a similar problem?

Well, I'm 5'9" and my wife is 5'6"...pretty normal. I remember reading in some edition of C&D about this problem. Strange there are no similar comments here.
