 Z4 hardtop application

Okay, so about a year ago I had purchased a hard top. Had it on for the winter months, then took it off for the summer. Just got done putting the hardtop back on for the coming winter months -- but can't seem to figure out how to tell the computer that the hard top is installed. It still wants to put the soft-top up when I put the key in to lock the doors. Any ideas?

Am I missing a fuse that I'm supposed to reset? Trunk locks? Anything like that? I didn't have to do anything when I took the top off - just lift the thing off and voila the soft-top worked again. Not sure why it's different going the other way with it.

[EDIT: I realize my sig says 325xi, the Z4 is actually my dad's car]

why would you put the key in the door to lock the car?

If you hold the key in the lock, it'll automatically roll up the windows and put the top up. However it didn't used to try to put the top up before when the top was on.

yes i know but why would you even need to/want to do that if you have a hardtop on

seems like a non-issue to me

'tis a good point...

Was just wondering if I was missing something that deactivated the top from going up and down when the hard top was in place.

Dealer tried getting the hard top to be recognized by the car - turns out the control module for the car went dead. Would also explain why the seats don't move to their key memory.
