Rear section is different, especially on the rear fenders. The "facelift" models have humps over the rear wheels. Pre-face lift Z3s, and all M Roadsters, slope down very nicely over the rear wheels.

Different:
-rear fenders
-wheels
-engine options
-interior ('00 is updated & nicer)
-color lights, amber vs. clear
-steering wheel?
-type of leather
-available exterior colors
-'97's don't have roll hoops
-early '97's don't have rear speakers & sub (or is that just '96's?)
-cd player standard on '00
-ASC v. DTC (or is it DSC, or still ASC on '00's?)
all i can think of atm

so thats the only difference.......r the rims different?.......headlights?......and wat bout those 2 bars taht go over each seat do the 1996 and 1997 have them?
