I know some of you guys are speed freaks so I have to ask. What is the top speed you guys have gone in your S54MZ3 or MZ3? And does anyone know what the limmit is for the MZ3 Stock?

If I remember correctly, the S52 Z3M (1998-2000) is limited at 138mph and the S54 MZ3 (2001-2002) is limited at 155mph from the factory. If I've got it wrong, I'm sure someone will jump in.

No open streteches of road here in LA...
I've only been able to get to ~105mph with my s54 motor, and with the 5% error that our speedos have, that makes my highest speed about 100mph.

thanks in advance | I've only gone 100-105 in my S52 Coupe (on highway 1 though, so that gets me some points, right?)
I assume the 138mph limit that was mentioned is the same as the E36 M3. I got my 95 M3 up to the limiter 10+ times. It's at 137mph, but my speedo always showed 143 dead on.. so that's your error at that point.
Supposedly more power in an S52 coupe than an S52 M3, but the aero is worse, more drag.

I've done 156mph (or 250km/h) in a 2000 328ci before  . Couldn't believe it actually went that fast! That was in Europe though. The Z3's are indeed limited somewhere around 140 (at least the roadsters).
I've only got mine up to 110 sometime...

GPS 151... Arizona, straight secondary road 10mi+ visibility,early AM, no traffic... just before my battery powered motorcycle radar detector signalled auto shutoff ...by announcing at loudest tone, all bands.........sheesh. '00 z3 M Coupe Evergreen ( the fast colour)
