 S52 Air pump removal

I would like to remove the air pump that connects to the exhaust. Anyone done this on an S 52?

I think there are some things to do besides disconnect it. so there are no faults detected.

ARC has the answers.

How ya doing? Cars keep showing up here wanting their butts worked on, it's forcing us to find a bigger garage...

Ok here, the storm went thru in two directions. east first then west. west was worse. I had no damage in my neighborhood. South of here was wiped out. This hurricane stuff is getting old. I don't understand how a person can own a gas station and not own a generator. Stupid first of all and its actually becoming a national security issue as everyone is trapped without gas. (except me, I keep steel Groits cans (30gals) filled with stablizer for escape if necessary.)\

ARC huh, ok. I remember our Guru mentioning some resistor to fool the computer looking for a load. as well as a blocking plate.

The selling job is ok but I wish I was working with you doing butts. Better hours and less worry.

So bob you'd rather wear your cats out quicker while they try to process raw fuel on each cold startup? The airpump just pumps extra air into the exhaust manifolds so that the catalytic convertors can process that fuel. It only runs for about 30 seconds, Since the cars aren't even close to warmed up then why is the extra performance at that point in time a concern for you? Its also not very heavy, the whole system can't weigh more than a few pounds. Unless the car is a race car or without cats I don't really see the benefit.

No, I wanted the storage space not performance related.
