Ok, I was just told that I have a package waiting for me at the office. I assume its the drivshaft that I was expecting.
Anyways, I have an MZ3 driveshaft. You can have it on an exchange basis for $50 plus a deposit of $250. You pay shipping, and I will refund to you the deposit money less any costs when you return your driveshaft to me.
Its in a nice wooden crate ready to go.
Why would you care?
Well, if your installing a 6 speed or something like that, you will have to have the driveshaft shortened. So you wait a week or so while it ships off to get shortened and returned to you. So, this just means you can do the whole install in one day. This does you no benefit other than saving you time. If you dont care, then its not worth anything. I am keeping a spare driveshaft around mainly in case I have any need to go back to the 5 speed in the future. So I dont mind helping out the fellow modaholics.
If you have any questions just email me.
Now you have one less excuse, so get to modding!

I get back to the office on wednesday. You should have your refund shortly after that. Glad that your transmission is installed and working well!

What would be real interesting is to take this opportunity to have a good shop take the measurements of the driveshaft, and produce either a carbon Fiber or aluminum shaft. I would be in for the group buy.

You couldn't save enough weight to make it worth while. The driveshaft is way too short. And with the bulked up aluminum ends that the CF shaft requires, you save less than a pound or two. Not really worth it for $1500.
