Any suggestions on what to do with a centre console (around hand brake) where the top layer of black plastic/rubber-paint bubbles and peels off? Whilst it looks like the top section is separate, the BMW dealer advised that a complete new console would have to be purchased at $800!

Has anyone tried vinyl tough-up or painting?
