About shark injector
I have searched on TMS website for the Shark Injector for my S54 roadster. I saw a set choices of Standard performance software; DSC button controls sport mode; and sport mode stays on even when key is turned off. Is this meaning that the current Shark has Sport mode combined so you don't need additional installation works from the BMW dealers?? Thanks! | | Reply » About shark injector | My question would then be, can you still turn the DSC on and off.
Best bet, call Turner and ask.

On the Injector I have, it basically duplicates the sport mode mod.
In use with John Firestones controller, it gives you more options, assuming you have an E46-M3 or do the S54 M-Z3 sport mode mod. It also gives you these options without using the Injector.
You can have sport mode come up with every start or not. You can have sport mode come up the way you left it on shut down. (Easy way to change your mind) You can also disable it from being turned on using the sport mode switch (switch has to be added on the S54 M-Z3, part of the sport mode mod). Sport mode won't come up even with a battery disconnect. You can turn on or off sport mode using the sport mode switch.

DSC can not be disabled even with a battery disconnect. You can turn on or off DSC using the DSC switch.
Sport mode options are independent of DSC options.
So if you drop off your car wherever, they can not enable sport mode or disable DSC if you choose to do so. Following is from Turners website:
E46 M3, S54 M Coupe/Roadster Shark Injector OBD-II Performance Programmer
2001-04 M3 Stock: 278.2 rear wheel Horsepower , 235.3 rear wheel Torque Sharked: 284.2 rear wheel Horsepower, 236.9 rear wheel Torque Peak Gain 6.0 rear wheel HP and 1.6 rear wheel Torque (Note: the max gain (biggest improvement) is 9 rear wheel HP between 7000 and 8000 rpm)
choose between 91 and 93 octane
your choice of a stock rev limit or a raised rev limit to 8100 rpm
throttle response improved in both Sport and non-Sport modes
new options for making life easier: DSC button controls Sport mode. With this feature you can control how the DSC and Sport mode interact. By pressing the DSC button and turning the system off you will automatically engage Sport mode. And by turning DSC back on, the Sport mode will disengage. This effectively de-activates the Sport button on the console. You'll only have to push one button instead of two! Or you can choose to have the Sport mode stay activated even when you turn the ignition off. This is extremely useful if spend all of your time in Sport mode. Now you won't have to repeatedly push the button every time you turn the car on!

Thanks! | Your car's DME has the Sport mode already -- there's just no way to activate it yourself. Some people have come up with switches a la the E46 M3. The Shark Injector has an optional feature that will enable it when the DSC is turned off:
DSC Controls Sport Mode -- works on all E46 M3 and MZ3 S54. By pressing the DSC button to turn it off, Sport mode will automatically be engaged. By turning DSC back on, Sport mode will de-activate. This is the Shark Injector's way of activating Sport mode in the MZ3 S54.
Sport Mode Memory -- works on all E46 M3 (they have the Sport mode switch). If you don't use a Shark Injector with the above option on the MZ3 S54 you will need to install a switch to activate the Sport mode in the DME. For E46 M3 owners, the Sport mode will stay activated even if you turn the car off. It's a convenience feature so you don't have to remember to hit the Sport button again.
I don't know enough about the aftermarket switches that people have. Ron Stygar's post is pretty clear, however:
