 VDO Oil Pressure Guage Faullty

Installed the VDO Oil Pressure Guage and with accompanying sending unit. Red Idiot light for oil pressure ligth is on all the time and oil pressure guage is pinned at maximum psi on guage.

the oil pump is working and the motor is getting oil.

Any ideas? Is it the sending unit? is it the guage?

Thanks

Sounds like its not wired correctly. If it is the gauge, I have one available.

Did you buy the gauge form us? You have a grounding problem.

Read here.

Your sympton indicates the gauge is not connected to the sender and your idiot light wire is connected to ground. You might have the G and WK contacts reversed or else you wired the gauge wrong.

I bought it several months ago along with a Boost guage. It only got installed this week when the TS kit arrived from Eurosport.

My fear is that the sending unit would be faulty since it is buried under the Twin Screw.

In 5 years of selling VDO parts, we have never had a single quality defect. Check your wiring.

I went to the link you posted and printed it out. Seems to make sense. The issue I am experiencing appears to be exactly what would happen if the wiring was wrong.

Thanks for the quick response.
