Is it normal for an S52 engine to use a quart of oil between changes (3000 miles)? No sign of leaks under it. No smoke either.
Also, the manual shows that it takes 5.8 quarts of oil when changing oil and filter. Any problem with feeding it 6 quarts and calling it a day when changing it?

NOT acceptible to me!
My S-52 has used up to a quart between oil changes (4500 mile interval) during colder months. perhaps half that during the summer.

WRT oil level, some people run about 1/2 quart high in S52 for autocross and track. Reduces, but does not eliminate, the lifter ticking after a hard run. I am going to install the Turner oil pan baffle at some point.

I haven't had to add any oil to mine between changes.

Well, I changed the oil and filter today (S52 engine) and put in about 6.5 quarts of Mobil One 5w30. That brought it up just barely to the "full" notch on the dipstick. I'm kinda surprised that it took 6.5 quarts since the owners manual called for 5.8.

Strange, my owner's manual specifies 6.3 quarts for an oil and filter change on an M Roadster or Coupe.
