How do you guys easily lift your car? I want to do my oil change myself but I'm not sure how I will get under there? Any easy solutions? I guess cranking up a wheel of the car won't work as it won't be parellell with the ground...

Oil Extractor. Suck the oil out the dip stick. No need to raise the car. Couple of options topsider or mityvac. I'm sure there are others.

I use a low profile jack when I need to raise the car

2 step process:
1. Jack up one front corner of the car and put a couple of 4x4s under a front tire. This give enough ground clearence for #2
2. Jack up the front by the front subframe. Make sure the jack is on the front part of the subframe and not the back. The toe of the jack will be where you need to put the catch pan. (don't ask me how I know that...)
Taking the car down is the opposite.
If you need to buy a jack, the most important part is how it releases and comes down under load. I have a Harbor Freight special. The release OK, but very sensitive. Need to do it REALLY slow. My dad has a 40 year old jack that is silky smooth on the release, very nice to use. The $20 wallmart special that I have also has a nice release, but it's only good for lifting by the car's jack points
Pretty easy and painless.

Pretty cool - My wife and I've been talking about building a house in the country - on the list is a proper garage with a high bay so I can get a lift.
