z4 power top motor failure
I purchased a 2005 3.0 in February. In July, I experienced a motor failure for the piower top. The motor was replaced under warrwnty. Last night, the second motor died. Has anyone else run into this problem?

If these get clogged, then water collects and can submerge the pumps. Apparently, this is bad.... Let the leaves, etc. that may be on your roof blow off before putting the top down; I also have them check the drain holes whenever it goes in for service.
Good Luck.

Has anyone else run into this problem? | There is a bulletin to carefully seal the housing for the motor... the motor is setting in a cup without a drain hole in it, if water gets into the housing it has no place to go and corrodes the electric motor which has holes in its housing to let the water in more easily.
The older z3 had it in the trunk where is was more easily protected, you just kept water out of the trunk.
