Are you wanting to buy one for yourself?... If so do it and bring it back you will find a few of the S54 Roadsters and Coupes for sale in germany... But the EURO is high at the moment.

I'd like to get all the parts on the front end of an E46 Compact and graft them onto a US-spec E46 330i ZHP.

Way to expensive. Won't ever happen.

You can convert the car to US spec ... there is not much too it. Just has to meet federal smog and safety standards which most new german cars do already. BMWs already come with MPH on the insterment pannel.

Anyway if you are interested in buying and importing a Euro-car take in the whole package in consideration. Delivery, car value, US Specs and Import tax.

PS if the car is a Classic it doesnt need to meet US SPEC.
If I were to purchase S54 M Coupe I would go to germany to see if I would find a better price. But thats me...

Yeah, I wasn't interested in importing a whole E46 compact. Just all of the body work and trim forward of the A-pillar. More parts than I could have shipped easily. Compact and the Sedan share the same platform. People in the US would freak out if they saw an E46 Compact front end on an E46 sedan. I like that.
