 Diff question 3.38 or 3.46

I found where bmw made a 3.38 lsd for the z3 line aswell, Is there anyway to find out if this unit was a torsen or not? the etk says its lsd but not if its torsen or not
and the 3.38 is from the 2.2 model z3 would it stand to reason that if its a torsen that it would be as strong as a 3.0 torsen as far as being "beefy"
I ask since after doing a little research some feel the 3.46 is a tad much on the hwy so I figured a 3.38 was still a big difference from a 3.07 but not as steep as a 3.46
thoughts?

When I initially looked into this, long ago, my choice was 3.38. Other than Dinan, couldn't find one. Not sure if the 2.2 model is the same case etc. 3.46 is the max I would go with stock diameter tires. It's right on the edge of aggravation the way I cruise in CT (65 > 75). With your 80MPH speed limit may be too much.
Looked into doing the six speed long ago too and decided against it.

Thanks Ron, good to hear from you.. Yeah looks like it might be a tough one to find.. I did find that per the etk it uses the same lsd unit as mine so I would assume its the same stuff just diff gear ratio, Ill prob go with the 3.46 when its all said and done due to availability but thought the 3.38 would be a good increase without the higher rpms at hwy speed, ill let you know what i find
max
