 Looking for power

I just spent some time talking with Will Turner,He can just about tell what works and what does not,I found that the pulley kit for the water pump, power steering and alternator is a major seller and produces good power per dollar spent,The intake issue with conforties is trickey but can be done as long as the limits at the m/f sensor are within range,The Shrick cam kit is a nice add Note(shrick) wants you to upgrade your lifters as there was a vendor change on the s-54 lifters and the early engines were having problems!!!!So for me at 15000 miles they will replace my lifters and add The Shrick cam kit for around two grand.Plus check my valve adjustment.I will watch and record data,Note Ron they have never had a s-54 out of tolerance on the inspection of the valves. That is good news,I am adding the 332 big break kit to my s-54 in blue.p/s there red line on our engine is 8800 with dry sump no engines have blown..I will keep ya posted.on the progress. As my winter projects have started..Just brakes on the coupe.this year and pulley kit..

Al, I'm surprised Will recommended the alternator pulley. Both UUC and Rogue claim that you can 'compromise the potential electrical integrity of the vehicle' by using one, and they do not recommend this mod.

This is the quote from UUC's website:

"Underdriving the alternator would have ramifications ranging from dim lights at idle, to insufficient charging ability, and potentially as far as damage to your BMW's voltage-sensitive components."

You can also check out this thread on bimmerforums that I started yesterday. Had a major issue with one of my Rogue pulleys.

I was concerned about water temperture and alternator issues first it will work good as long as you are not a aftermarket stereo or high power(amp) other than stock user there was no output fluctuation under load.on the s-52 or the s-54.And the water temp did not move on the trend reports, underload the amperage output was stable.Or your money back..

Al, have you done the Dinan throttle bodies yet? If you're gonna do Schrick cams...

Get some good pictures for us. Just curious about wear/scoring. I'm about to do Inspection 1 and will be doing the same.

Don't forget new rocker arms.
