Try other dealers. I got mine (though the parts guy, not service or car sales) for $1950 for a Z3 (I see you have a Z4). New tops from the dealer include the mounting kit, they're painted in your car's body color, and they're delivered to the dealer. One dealer in SC sold for even less than that. For eBay tops, you need to add the cost of the mounting kit plus packing/ shipping plus any repaint.
