the 3 series forum has a section for e30 '83-'91 and the 5 series forum has an e34 but only starts at '89. i have a '84 533i 5spd, where do i belong? ( i am new to the bmw world). anybody know of a good bimmer history sight that might include model history and development as well as pictures?

I think your car is a counterfeit, actually manufactured by Mercedes Benz to give BMW a bad reputation.
Take a look in the classics section. In some of the threads there are links to classs BMW sites.
