 Newbie Here...My first Bimmer!

Hello All,

I just picked up a 1998 Cosmos Black M Roadster this past weekend (Hence my name). So, am I posting in the correct forum? Z-series or M-series or both ?? lol

I just sold my 2000 WS6 TA about a month or so ago and this is it's replacement. Overall, the M Roadster is much more fun to drive and I'm very happy with my switch so far. By the way, this is my first BMW.

Welcome & congrates on your new M Roady. A few pointers to get you started.
This forum is more about technical issues you may have rather than a chit chat forum- though after you get the feeling of what goes on here and who is here there are some off subject threads about.
I suggest you investigate as many previous threads regarding mods & issues regarding the engineering design of the cars before you start asking opinions about them. For example and not to scare you but these car can develop cracks in the trunk area where the subframe brackets and other sections were welded to the unibody. Randy Forbes has the ulitmate solution to this "Issue".
Read everything that Randy Forbes has posted as well as by Ron. There are other great contributors, mindtrusts, here as well, & you know who you are
Check out Leather Z (there's your plug) for potential mods as well as other sites. PS They are the hosts

Oh yea the big event is on January first!!!
Everyone goes out and has a picture taken of them driving their car w/ top down & posts them on the site
The coupi's have their windows down..

I'm sure everyone else will chime in
Welcome

Welcome to the forum.

PS:You couldn't have explained better Carl, wouldn't want him to have to learn the way I did

Thanks for the welcomes.

Ok, my first actual question is if there are any places online that you can order BMW OEM parts. I'm sure there are, but any links would be great. I suppose I can search around the forums too. The reason I ask is that I'd like to get some touch-up paint (Cosmos Black) to fix some minor paint chips on the front facia. Also, I noticed that my two rims on the drivers side are missing the small "///M' decal/badge and I'd like to get a couple new ones. I'm also thinking about replacing the rear window maybe sometime and wanted to check on prices.

There are only a couple of BMW dealers here in the Minneapolis area that I know of and I just figured it would be easier and probably cheaper to order things online or by catalog.
