 Need specs on 2002 z3 2.5i auto

My girlfriend recently purchased a 2002 z3 auto/step.

I know it has 184hp and the m54 engine. I have been doing searches.

1. Its a 2.5i, what does the "i" represent?

2. what differential is in this vehicle ?

What would you recommend for the first 3 mods on this vehicle?
(she wants the DDE's)

Thanks.

"I" is always the Auto/manual option "Steptronic"

This is what I would do

1. Supercharger www.vf-engineering.com(40% increase in power) 185* 1.40 = 259HP @6PSI stage I
2. Exhaust supersprint or Active Autowerks
3. Rearend dual ears "Randy's"

Should be set after this, because you will be Faster than a stock 3.0I and M' models before 2001

All that matters is the 2.5 which means 2750-cc engine. The i stands for inline, as in the 6 cyls are inline opposed to V or boxer or even rotary formats. The "L" which shoudl have come after the 2.5 which means Litre (I think you migh have it backwards - shoudl be 2.5L M52B30 i-6. Who cares about the diff at this point? ask the Dinan dealership. Get the front strut tower brace yesterday. then later (as I also plan to do) get the Strong-strut kit, I've heard it's well worth it. I would just keep working on the suspension and perhaps get CAI and exhust.

Yeah I think you're right "I"means inline....

Dont bother with the CAI and all that, go right for the blower which includes the software injectors and CAI. You will be a very happy camper

Hey, do you know anything about that supercharger that you mentioned ? I don't know a lot about them but I thought the intercooling supers are better? seems like this one is a stage one only ? Also what is a "Randy's" ?

yes... let me put my webpage back up

I will be doing the same to the Mz3 S54.

(water)Charge Coolers are the best way of cooling the charge down. You will get an intake temp around 27C while under charge(6PSI) where as your normal intake temp is around 30C at 30mph without charge and 50C while under a charge *(6PSI).

ALso charge coolers are mounted at the intake and do not increase the ducting where as intercoolers (air) use alot more piping and cause a drop in pressure from resistance.

If you are going to supercharge think about getting the charge cooler system with it.
