 Z4 Pricing Validation

I'm in the market for a Z4 and have done some decent search across few dealer ships

For a Z4 3.0 Roadster
With

- Premium Pkg
- Sport Pkg
- Xenon Lights

The asking price is 42,000

with an option of leasing it for 24 months at 464 + tax a month.

Could any of you "gurus" out there comment on this price. Too high, fair , awesome deal ?

Would really appreciate your comments.

Thanks

bmwusa.com says MSRP on that car is $47K. Normally I'd say that's a steal for a BMW. few things though:

-Z4 sales have been abysmal.

-winter time is coming = bad for roadster sales

-End of yr is coming = want to get rid of 2005 inventory

-2006 model yr will see a M roadster and a facelift. This would prob put downward pressure on the price of a pre-facelift 3.0

Given all of that, looks like you're in prime shape to negociate. however, I can't comment on that price b/c i have not been watching the market on these cars. My advice would be to look at similar examples selling on Ebay (plenty of BMW dealers on there) and if you have a friend in the business, see what z4s are going for at dealer auctions.

good luck!

I assume this the black one at Bellevue BMW? If I remember the MSRP was $47,770..................after the salesman played games with me I went over to seattle and negoed down the price little more, got a strong trade and they found the color and options I wanted within a week. True the four year model update is in January, but you won't get $6k off another roadster until the total model makeover in 2010. The only reason I would wait is if you feel a need more power or your not sure about the styling, I doubt you'll see any major changes except for the upgraded HP 3.0's or a little front or rear skin alteration. And if they come out with the MZ4, you'll pay $55k or more with no discounts from BMW Mine arrives on Friday, I can't wait. Also this is a third car so I plan to keep it for a while and if I feel I'm getting out performed in the future; I'll just add a Supercharger for the $6k I saved in the beginning.
Good Luck!! Thanks

There is a dealer incentive of $4500. A deal for $1000-$1500 over net dealer cost is fair to both parties at this time of the year.

The money factor for 24 months lease is 0.0010 which is awesome! I think a 36 month lease will be more expensive now than a 24 month lease. You can look up the residual in the Ask A Dealer board. In general a $465 (with no cap cost reduction), is a good price for a car stickering at $47K!

Actually, if you want to make out like a bandit, start your negotiation from invoice price and then work it down using the $4500 dealer incentive. I've been looking for a 2005 2.5 snd with an invoice of around $3K, I've been told to try to get the dealer to take off anouther $1300 to $2000. This will still give him at least a $1200 to $500 profit. Waiting until the end of this month might be to your advantage as not only is that the end of the month, but also the end of the fiscal quarter. Sort of a possible double wammy for the dealer. Selling cars then halps him reduce inventory and maybe get his volume figures up so that he can get some extra money back from BMW. If I can hold out, I will try to start dealing the end of this month. Good luck.

For $42K, this time of year, you could probably get a Boxster for this price. If you haven't had a chance to drive one, I would do it. Plus it should hold its value better. Not trying to be provocative, just my 2 cents.
