Yes, I got my coupe back today with the EVO 6-speed trans installed! Trans sounds good --- no extra noises.
I'm very happy with this setup. With the 3.46 differential it is a very nice combination of gearing. For serious racing I'd go with 3.73 gears in the differential, but the 3.46's are very nice for street use.
The shifter is a Rogue Engineerng Octane unit --- nice gear. Also have the Rogue trans mounts. I guess some people might say the shifter is a little "notchy" but it feels great to me --- nice and solid.
New clutch disc, pressure plate, throwout bearing, and pilot bearing (stock items).
Driveshaft shortened 4" and balanced by a local shop. They did this for $195. No, I didn't get the name of the driveshaft shop --- Taylor's subbed it out to them. The shaft almost looks unmodified --- good work.
Taylor's in Pomona, CA did the work, and did it well. They charged me $500 to R&R the trans. I recommend them. They commented as to how easily everything went together. I provided a new E36 EVO M3 crossmember since the trans was without one; it fit perfectly.
So now I can accelerate like mad or cruise 65mph at 2200 RPM --- I like it! Must take a road trip now!
I'll be adding a Teflon-lined stainless steel clutch cylinder hose as soon as UPS can figure out where I live.
