Aftermarket exhaust for Z3 3.0 engine?

I have a good friend with the 3.0 engine in his Z3.

He'd like a new muffler/tailpipes to give him a bit more grunt. Who makes such a system? Anyone have one installed?

How about an Eisenmann? You can listen to one in the "theatre" section of www.eisenhaus.com That is where I bought mine from and I love it (high performance version on a 1.9l). Only drawback would be shipping time, mine took almost two months to arrive but I've heard of others receiving theirs in 2 wks.

I disagree with the Eisenmann recommendation. At least for a 3.0i car. Andy had horrendous fitmet problems with his and he sold it. Search archives.

Supersprints are the best bet for sound, weight, finish, and fitment. Plus, AndyM can get you a deal on one.

Another (cheaper) option is just a Magnaflow muffler. Just be sure to get a good shop to install it.

Fit is critical, the rest of the car has some pretty clean mods, so we want it to look nice.

I'll suggest he look at the Supersprints. Are they bolt-on?

I will let Andy answer. He ended up buying some connecting pipes that he didn't use and there were some tricks to install.
