 Strut Brace

I am looking at purchasing a strut brace for my car. I was wondering if anyone knows of a shop in or around the Los Angeles area where I can actually go to purchase one without having to order online?

Don't know what your tax rate is but assuming ~6% on a $200 brace, it works out to ~$12 which is about what you'll pay for shipping. So no real savings there.

BTW, the general consensus is that strut braces don't help that much.

BTW2, e36 M3 braces will fit.

Whose general concensus?

Strut braces DO help. Or you wouldn't see them on race cars. On our M Rodaster you could tell the difference turning into a parking space. On or E46 M3 my wife could tell the difference while riding and she didn't know I had even ordered one, much less installed it.

Mail order, and hinges or non-hinged don't matter, get what you like. I have a Strong Strut CL.

Concensus? I believe everything I read on the internet. lol

Only that about 3 said they didn't notice, your the 1st that said they did notice. So I guess it's 3 for 1 against. I guess 2 if you count your wife.

a strut bar is pretty far down my priority list. Eventually I get one and see what it does for myself.

1. I'm afraid that you'll have to add another one to the list of "I can tell the difference". I put mine on before my last autocross and the difference was very measureable.

2. Not all e36 braces will fit. I tried to put a sparco on mine and the mounting point for the cross bar was probably about 1/2" to high which didn't allow the hood to close on just the saftey latch.

My advice to you ROBALISCIOUS is to shop around. Depending on how deep your wallet is you can get one of the carbon fiber braces or buy one @ cosmo racing. While there is a difference with having the brace I'm not sure if you can tell the difference between a 450.00 unit or one for 135.00, (which is how much I paid for mine shipped to the door).
