i want to add some gauges to my 2.8 z3, i don't feel that the basic gauges do the car justice. but i can't decide if i like the thought of putting them on the -pillar. any thoughts, ideas, pics, are much appreciated.

I have an oil pressure gauge and A-pillar pod still in the box from two (2) years ago because I didn't like the look (the sending unit and all the wiring has been installed in the car since I got them).

I like the idea of pillar gauges, but there is one thing I can not stand about them...
Every application I have seen does not blend seamlessly with the pillar. There is always some sort of space in between the gauge setup and the pillar that screams "I'm not OEM, someone bolted me on!"
I think that if someone could do one that looked more factory than aftermarket, it would be awesome. No akward gaps between the gauges and the pillar, no mis-matched colors.... I think it would look great.
