Too much oil = blown rear main seal?

Just curious. Looking at the fact I have a new oil pan on the car since last week. I am still getting a very slow oil leak. So.... I think its the rear main seal now. Wow, how many idiots does it take to change your oil?

So, I am dealing with the worlds worst dealership. There is no way a rear main seal should go at less than 30k miles should it?

Why oh why didnt I change my own oil!

Only Porsche 911's go through rear main seals that fast! Seriously, I've never heard of too much oil causing an RMS failure. Normally it's a burr or some other flaw on the crankshaft. (Well, at least on SB Chevy's...)

As for letting a dealer change your oil, for shame! Nonetheless, I doubt they caused the RMS problem. Really.

Well, it cant be the transmission can it? I changed it, but left the flywheel and the clutch alone. I didnt even touch them.

I know I have oil dripping, very very slowly from the engine. So I have yet to figure it out.

Does the S54 take a crush washer? I didnt even see one on there.

Have you got underneath the car and found exactly where the leak is occurring? Yes, it could be the transmission, but it would seem to me you could see a) which assembly has the oil on it and b) whether or not you are leaking motor oil or ATF.

It does sound like an RMS issue. Can you take a good picture?

I will crawl under there tonight and snap some photos. Heres the thing. The oil is covering the bottom of the engine and the lowest point is the drain plug. Now looking at it, the drain plug is wet with oil every night. But it does look like there is oil on the line between the transmission and the engine. Ok, photos to follow. If I can get the camera in there. Its pretty tight under there. Especially with the car lowered like it is.

Just a quick question, how long does a throw out brearing last? If they do the RMS it stands to reason that I should get the clutch and pressure plate replaced. Hell, I have new ones in my garage just collecting dust.
