My Subwoofer speaker is blown-can I fix?

After removing the grill and checking the speaker I found that it is blown.
The HK subwoofer in my 2000 Z3 roadster was sounding pretty crappy
with the top down on the freeway - I fried the speaker. I'm guessing this
is the top, exposed speaker from photos I've seen of the subwoofer removed.
I'd like to find a suitable replacement speaker . Does anyone know of a source
to get a replacement speaker, and I'm guessing the subwoofer unit has to be
removed to replace the speaker too, right? Doesn't look so hard to do that.
thanks for your help.

are you sure the speaker is actually blown

I thought my sub was blown & took it to an audio shop & they agreed.

But it turned out that it was merely the tube behind the grill that had come loose and vibrated against the grill & the sub housing...I removed the tube & the prob was solved.

Yes, I'm positive it's the speaker behind the grille. The cone is separated from the paper.
it trashed. A new speaker will fix it.

Exactly make sure the speaker is blown.I thought mine was also, but after taking the sub apart and inspecting I found a piece of insulation laying against back, glued and reassembled. What do you know good as new.As far as taking apart it is easy pop off cap above sub,you will see the 4 screws, after you take those out slide it up and disconnect wire plug. If you need the M-Z3 site has pictures and directions

Ridgeway, later model subs were different and did not include the horn. My stereo sounds better with the tube in. I wrapped mine in window insulation, and that stopped it from buzzing.
