Hey guys,
I've got a little project I'm undertaking with one of my E30's and would like to filter oil more thoroughly for it.
I think a US-Spec oil filter housing from one of our cars would do well, and I know that at least a few of you guys have removed them from your cars to put on the Euro/S54 filter housing to facilitate installation of an oil cooler.
Would anyone be willing to part with theirs?

Also, for Randy or anyone else who might know:
Is the pressure valve located in the housing itself?

I'll be putting an oil cooler on my S-52 sometime after HC, perhaps I can figure it out for you then...

Thanks Randy, I appreciate it.
Can anyone who has one off the car look at it and see what type of valve is inside the housing.
Any idea how hard it would be to remove?
I want a free-flowing oil filter housing, and the BMW paper filters seem like a good bet.

Also, can anyone with a spare oil filter sitting around see if there is any indication on the box as to how many microns it filters to?
Or does anyone know off the top of their head?

I have the oil filter housing off a 2000 M Coupe. Came off my track car when we installed a modified euro housing for the Big Ass Oil Cooler (TM). It's yours if you want it. PM me. I believe the part is nearly new. The car was crunched in the front, engine block was cracked. I believe the housing was a casualty of that. Sure looks new to me. I'll make you a deal.
