My regards, | | Reply » Am I being Scammed? | You've got to be kidding. You follow thru on that one & you'll take an $8K loss when his check fails to clear & yours does.
You might have the police meet the agent with the prospect of propagating a scam.
Have fun. Fred

They may be scoping you for a theft of the vehicle or other scam involving your name and particulars....this not being remotely connected with your vehicle. What a load of millarky the whole cheque thing is too. No way my friend, no way on this planet is this real, it is a confidence trick at the very least.

| | Reply » Am I being Scammed? | There was an article in our newspaper (Houston Chronicle) about these scams. The original certified check is a fake, but you would not find out until a few days later. Of course, your bank would "return" this ckeck to you, plus you would be out $8K, as well as bank return check charges.
