That VIN looks like a S54 2001 M Roadster (August 2001 build, perhaps).

They have been going for well over $33,000 in SoCal in that mileage range. KBB is useless for these models.

Some S54 M Coupes have gone for over $38,000.

It looks like the basic warranty would go to 11/16/05. Did they do the 48 month maintenance deal or is maintenance over on this one?

I think the maintance should be over.... CPO 100kmiles should only cover the drive train but he does claim that maintenace is cover up to 100k

The S54's get a special engine warranty up to 6 yrs/ 100k miles at no additional cost (because of S54 issues).

This car should still have some basic warranty left (48 months from in service date, with some exceptions). This will give you a chance to see if it has some of the common issues (the transmission shift pin problem being one of the more expensive ones).

Get a BMW dealer to give you the Vehicle History Report on this car -- and get them to explain it to you. That will give the exact expiration dates on maintenance and warranties along with showing all BMW dealer maintenance and warranty work.

BMW dealer can also see if they have purchased BMW extended warranty and extended maintenance agreement.

If it has both $33,000 is a good price, IMO.
