Okay, so I've got a 3" length of tubing through the driver's side trailing arm and wrapped around the subframe for the most part. Wtf is that? I'm trying to drop the subframe (which isn't coming out for crap btw) and theres this line there. Looks like gas... Please say it isn't. |

I assume its just a vent tube. Just pull off the hose clamp and disconnect it.
The S54 has the tube running to the front of the car instead.

You can disconnect it without a problem. But I would have some new hose clamps ready to put it back on. I think it goes to the charcoal canister or something. But we just pulled it off for the bushing install then reinstalled it.

Ok, yanked that. Just a vent tube, you're right.
Now on to the bigger problem...
Anyone else have a HORRIBLE time getting the subframe out? I've been trying to drop it for 2 hours now, with no effect. One side is hanging a little lower off the bolt than the other, and no matter what I do, the driver's side usually, binds up and won't come out.

Push the lower side up, you got it cocked funny. The diff will make it come off uneven so just try and keep it level all over and it will come down slowly.

Been doing that for a while now, and even when it's not cocked funny, it still just won't lower out at the right angle.
The driver's side just cocks in there at a wierd angle and refuses to go out anymore. I've resorted to pry bars and slabs of wood trying to pry one side, then the other, then the other, etc.. to keep them perfectly even.
No dice.
