I am replacing the hatch struts on my car because the orginal ones are shot. Dealer was nice enough to verify the complaint and then order them. I just pickup up the new ones today and I am going to replace them myself and give them the old ones.
So the question at hand is: are there any tricks removing/putting the new ones back?
Thanks, Florian

Not really. They,re held in place with a little metal plate. Use a flat screwdriver to gently pry it out and it's a 20 second job.

Thanks a lot. It does not seem difficult.
Attachment describes how to do it according to TIS.

Yup. You pry out the #1 thing.
Mine are shot too. They don't last very long.

Thanks, Florian | Verify? You mean they paid for them? Mine still has a CPO until December so maybe I try to get the CPO to pay for them?

I just volunteered that I would do the swapping myself. They know me well and let me do that. I save time and the hassle of driving there, they save money.
Unless they are considered wearable it should not be a problem getting them. The thing is that you have to pay $50 for a CPO claim and the struts are cheaper than that. I would do it combined with other issues you need to take care of so you can save some money.
