I have been perusing different sites looking at used Z4's. I noticed quite a few with the leatherette material. Anybody out there have this? How do you like it? I noticed you can even get heated seats with the leatherette. Any opinions would be appreciated.

I have had leatherette in a 3 series, and while it was allright I defininitely prefer leather. It really feels almost the same as leather but after a while I began to notice that it was "stickier" than real leather. If you plan on a Z4 get REAL leather, this will also help your resale value out a little bit.

No experience with the leatherette but definitely get the heated seats! Pretty awesome on cold days or when you want to drive with the top down when it's a little more chilly!

I agree, definitely needed in the Chicago area, to get a decent amount of "drive time" during the year. I won't buy one without it. I have them on a couple of my cars and even the heated steering wheel on my X5.

i'm in houston, so i can't speak on the heated seats b/c we don't need them down here.
personally, I wouldn't pay extra for leather. leatherette will wear better and the "real" leather isn't anything to write home about.
