any clubs/chapters allow roadsters for driving schools?

Got an email that the buckeye bmwcca chapters driving school is next month.

& just like my local bluegrass chapter, open top cars are simply not allowed.
Before I purchsaed my BMW I thought that w/a hardtop it would be allowed, but it seems not.

Anyone ever have the opportunitly to take their roadster be it a z3 or z4 to a driver school? If so, I'm assuming not with bmwcca? Any other car clubs allow roadsters?
I'd love to take my Z4 onto the track, but it appears I'm not allowed to- I really don't see how a "new" roadster is that much less safe than a sedan/coupe...?

I have a friend in VA that used to drag race his modified Mustang Cobra convertible on tracks. He said it is hard now though because they indeed don't allow convertibles that much anymore... They are still places that do though. I'll check with him if he knows anything about BMW...

Try the Miata clubs. Of course they allow open top cars.

Also check other types of events. Summit Point has FATT (friday at teh Track) days that allow open top with factory roll bars.

Not sure about Porche clubs and MB clubs, but keep looking there are places.

Not that it will help you, but you asked. Puget Sound Chapter allows open top cars with 5 point harnesses and either factory or aftermarket roll-over protection(no pop ups).

Ditto, it won't help you in your location, but TrackTime and CGI Motorsports here in Michigan both allow convertibles with factory rollhoops. Of course they both run on flat courses with flat run-off areas.

I'm going to a driving school sponsored by the local BMWCCA chapter (the Lone Star Chapter) and let's see...to participate, I had to get the HMS rollbar, the harnessbar, two sets of 4 point harnesses (one for driver and one for instructor), seat grommets for the harnesses, and arm restraints. A couple grand later, I get to go to the bloody driving school, heh...
