 Inland Empire Coupers

Bob and Albert,

Do you guys want to do a tranny fluid change? I just read on this board about BMW's new MTMF2 fluid and I think I'm at the mileage to need a change. It comes in a 5L jug (at roughly $20-5/L) so we can definitely do 3 trannies with that. I'm shopping for a good price on this stuff.

Anyone else interested?

I wouldn't mind getting in on that. I'm almost at 50k miles and my shifting actually isn't that smooth anymore... I thought about bringing it to the dealer but if I can do it cheaper myself...

Cool, looks like Nick A no longer has their favorable pricing for CCA memebers. Too bad for them. Lost business IMO. Spoke to my parts guy, David, and he says its $157, list is $128. Damn their new pricing scheme. Its horrible. BMW says sell it for 128, they jacked it up even more. Time to find a new place to buy stuff. Any suggestions?

This is what 'pinecone' said in the 'changing transmission oil' thread.

If you can afford it, MTF2 is superb, but comes in a 5L container for something like $20 PER LITER. One container does 3 trannies. We just did this one two E46 M3s and a 99 323 and have a few ounces left.

Other choices, Redline D4ATF or MTL. I like MTL in our M Roadster tranny and my LTW.

5L should be about 100 bucks then? Maybe redline is cheaper? A lot of other guys seem to like that...

As we mentioned last night, my tranny is coming out in a few weeks anyway.

I used Redline D4ATF in my M3 and it has worked well. Just thought I try the new bmw stuff. If we can source a place that has the MTMF2 then we'll go with the Redline. Eitherway, we can work on it at my place.
