 Alarm acting up

I have a little problem that only happens once in a while.I go to use my BMW keyless entry and anti theft system and it will not unlock doors and gives the three churp off sound if I attempt to arm or disarm,an hour later it will work fine.Once again only happens once in a while. Please any help would be great!

Three chirps in my aftermarket alarm (clifford ig9000) generally mean that the alarm thinks something's not closed, or the radio alarm finger's not connecting right (aka, the radio's been inserted improperly).

When you say 'an hour later', do you mean you don't do a thing, you leave the car completely alone, not touching any doors, hood, etc, and then it works?

Check out the hood switch. Mine did the same thing and it was a bad hood switch. Dealer replaced it with an updated part. Car is still under warrantee (but not for much longer).

The doors don't unlock but the alarm chirps 3 times? Sounds like a different problem, but try replacing the hood switch anyway. It's around $20 and is a known problem. Mine was already bad when I got the car @ 27k miles. These switches are not sealed in anyway. Only a matter of time for dirt and moisture to ruin it. You could try removing the switch and cleaning it with a blast of electrical contact cleaner or WD40 and reinstalling it.
