It was a while ago when I brought this up but I just found a decent picture of the centre air vent guage panel. Making one for our cars will make for a clean alternative to A-pillar guages IMO. e30 Alpina

The one you want is this Alpina one:
I assume it won't fit E36/7 /8. Maybe with mods. It was written up in Roundel several years ago. It could do oil temp, oil press, volts, and diff oil temp I think. It was about $1000-$1500, but it integrates so well it's hard to argue with.

I see what looks like idiot lights in the left center vent, or are those numeric LED displays?
At the moment I don't have any gauges on my A-pillar, they're all in the existing gauge holes. I am thinking about adding some though. I don't think I'd do the vent thing, to me it doesn't look very good and I need my vents. I guess there's the stealth factor (A-pillar gauges in a drop-top definitely aren't stealth), but in the car pictured, I'd ditch the clock before I put that vent mod in.

Quote: wow, those are cool | Yes, they are cool. But like I said, 10 years ago they were huge money. Prolly even huger now. I sent a PM to Alex to see if he has any info on availability. I (or he) will post what he finds out hopefully.
