Part of what I submitted was not even forwarded to the representative, so I can't fault them for not responding to that (I complained about never getting a BMW for a loaner when mine was in for repairs but getting an Enterprise Rent-A-Car instead).
What they did respond to was:
Description: My air conditioning system failed for the second time. The first time it failed, the system was recharged and it worked fine. This time they found a leak in the condenser and replaced it. The air conditioner works fine, but I am concerned because the drier was not replaced. A couple of air conditioning experts have told me that when the system is opened, the drier will pull in moisture which will cause it to fail in the future. I asked the service manager about this and he stated that because the system still had some pressure, that the drier did not need to be replaced. But when you remove the condenser, the system no longer has pressure! So I am concerned that the system will fail again next year when the car isn't under warranty. The dealer may have done the work based on instructions from BMW, so I'm not sure who I am disappointed in.
They did not address this issue at all. They also gave me incorrect information because the FMP is only good for 3/36 not 4/50 as stated above. My only recourse is to get a second opinion from another dealer. The service manager must contact the regional rep, I cannot do it. There is no one at BMW that will discuss technical issues with customers.
I feel insulted by the response I received and I really have no desire to purchase another BMW. Maybe it is just my dealer that isn't one of the better ones or maybe I'm making a big deal out of nothing.
As the reply says above, I do like to drive my BMW, but owning it is another story.
What do you all think (feel free to disagree with me!)
Thanks!
