My baby started developing a butt crack. So far its just a little crack around one of the little circles on the trunk floor. I assume its where the mounting ear for the diferential mounts. I think i caught it in time as the crack is very little. Besides Randy's fix which is way too expensive for my pocket, what do you guys suggest i do ? Any help will be greatly apreciated. |

Take your car to the (friendliest) dealer in your area and while wearing your most pleasant attitude, ask them to take a look at it. The Area Rep will have to okay any warranty work, but maybe they'll do a good-will fix for you.
If you get demanding and criticize their design, you'll have few options...
Good luck!

Well.... I think Randy will "work" with you if you do some of the work, like removing the trunk carpets, etc. Also, I think he worked with a local muffler shop so that you don't have to buy an aftermarket exhaust, which should also reduce the cost.
Also, Randy sells his kits if you're ok with welding them in....others have followed that route.
Here's Wizzard's solution...http://www.z3bimmer.com/Garage/Fixes/index.html

This will give you a better idea of what the damage is. Otherwise, you may run the risk of having your dealer take a shortcut and cover part of the area with new seam sealant without completely re-welding it...
