Having recently purchased a 98 M Roadster, I've noticed how slow the drivers and passengers windows are to go up and down. Comparing this to other cars I've owned over the years, I can't recall ever having slower power windows. So my question is how fast are the windows? If someone has had this possible problem, what was the fix? If this is normal, please let me know. I did use the "search" function but came up empty. Thanks. Bart

Bart | I too am having window problems in my newly acquired '99 M Coupe. My windows are not only slow, the regulator on the drivers side is doing the dreaded 'up-down-up-stop' thing about halfway up. Sehr annoying.
I searched the FAQ thread in this section and used the search function as well and came up empty.
Can anyone point us in the right direction? Thanks!

If you remove the door panel you will see that at the bottom of the window tracks there is some white lithium grease that is getting hard. Remove it and re-lub. Worked for me and several others.

also doesn't hurt to lube the rubber channel the glass slides in with the BMW gummyphledge stuff we use on rubber, that fixed mine.

I have a 2000 M Coupe and have the same problem with both my windows. sometimes it even just stops and I have to pull it up... so sad!!!! I'd like to know what has worked for you all (ie motor replacement vs relubrication) so that I can be sure the dealer doesn't screw me over
Thank you in advance- db
