and now I can't, for the life of me, figure out how the oil cooler securely mounts onto the radiator. here are some pictures if they help at all...I found a post by bob lindquist, where he mentions how the two connect, but I didn't see the items he mentioned...

There's a plastic "tab" that slips into the right side slot on the radiator and bolts to the oil cooler. If you can't find the part number, I'll get it for you before you need it (something that I can control... )

BTW, I did accomplish another (albeit small) task in the manufacturing process of the adapter blocks today. With any luck, I'll make some progress on them tomorrow.

I happen to be doing the same install at the moment. The bracket you are missing is a plastic L shaped bracket - Holder - Part # 17 51 2 243 659. Also need M6 X 20 Hex Bolt to secure it - Part # 11 65 2 243 770.
Photo is of mine. Bolt does not come chromed from BMW like in the photo.

ahh, there we go...thanks a bunch...I was just thrown because the schematic shows the bracket and bolt on the wrong side of the oil cooler (parts #2 and #3)

Thanks for your help Randy. I'm in no hurry as far as the oil adapter block goes, as I have plenty of other things I need to take care of before it comes to the radiator/oil cooler install...so take your time (though I know you will anyways ).

Also, I received your package on Friday. Very beautiful. I must commend you on a wonderful packing job. I've ordered quite a bit of stuff lately from "actual" companies, and they don't take the care and consideration you do.

oh, but I wanted to make sure...one of the steel beams is slightly bent ~3" from the end, and though I don't think this could've happened during shipping due to the attention you give to packaging the beams, I just want to make sure it's part of the design.

Fixed tab on Drivers side fits in slot on drivers side of radiator and then bracket is inserted in slot on Passenger side of radiator and bracket is bolted to oil cooler. Photos show mounted on Zionsville Alloy E36 radiator. Same fitment into the slots you show for the S54 radiator.
